Game of Thrones Finale Recap: Top 10 Moments of Season 5, Episode 10: Mother’s Mercy

Last week I mentioned that the previous episode broke the internet, let’s re-phrase that to it almost did. This week’s finale episode of Game of Thrones, DEFINITELY broke the internet. Now book readers only know very little more than TV viewers. The show is almost caught up, but there a few stories still left from A Dance with Dragons. Season 6 will encompass  the rest of that novel and the new one, if it ever comes out. This week’s episode was awesome, sad, crazy and chaotic all wrapped into one and left fans hanging on a thin thread of hope for what is to come.

Let’s talk about what happened on the final episode of the season.

Game of Thrones Recap: Top 10 Moments of Season 5, Episode 9: Dance of Dragons

This week’s episode of Game of Thrones was mind blowing to say the least. I think some of the scenes that went down (I won’t write it here in case someone is not caught up) broke the internet. I mean I’m not going to lie I was upset with that big moment that happened, which deviated completely from the book. Oh wait, I thought they were book changes, but the producers of the show have confirmed that George RR Martin said these things would happen. Ok, that really makes me mad, how do you spoil a book like that! Come on George, I thought you primarily wrote the books to tell a specific story and make readers excited, not to please HBO? I won’t rant anymore about that! But overall an interesting episode that made me both cry and yell in excitement!

Let’s dive in and talk about what went down (screaming internally).

Game of Thrones Recap: Top 9 Moments of Season 5, Episode 8: Hardhome

Episode 8 of Game of Thrones was fantastic! Bravo, one of the best episodes yet. Season 5 has not been my absolute favorite, but it redeemed itself with the Hardhome story. Characters are finally coming together and various stories are quickly unraveling.

I think the next final episodes are going to impress like no other and take the story to another level (at least I hope so).

Let’s jump right into the recap and discuss some of the best wtf and omg moments.

Game of Thrones Recap: Top 8 Moments of Season 5, Episode 6: Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken

First off, I have been feeling the need to change the format of these recaps. Writing these and the ones for The Walking Dead, really just started to get boring and tedious for me. So for this one I am going to do something different and recap it with the best and most interesting moments of the show that make you say OMG or WTF just happened. Basically anything I find interesting and moments I would like to give some explanations for those who might confused with some of the scenes.

With Episode 6 we are already almost half way through with the season. Thus far nothing too crazy has happened yet, but we all know that always begins to happen around the last few episodes. So the next few ones should be fun.

Let’s talk about the best moments of the show.

Game of Thrones Recap: Season 5, Episode 4: Sons of the Harpy

Throughout Seasons 1-4, we have come to understand the different countries in Westeros and the characters who reside in them. In the opening montage of the show, it is obvious how different and far apart the countries actually are and why it takes long voyages to get from one side to the other. Now the characters are finally merging and coming together. We have seen Arya travel around King’s Landing, the Vale and now she is in Braavos, one of the most powerful free cities. Tyrion has gone from seeing Castle Black, Casterly Rock, his home of King’s Landing and now he is off to heard towards Meereen, a city that was once dominated by masters, is now being wrecked due to their anger at Daenerys Targaryen. My point in mentioning this is that this is only the beginning of our beloved characters merging worlds and I have to say it is pretty exciting.

As much as I am disappointed at all the deviations from the book, I am still fascinated with this show and excited what to see will happen next. Alright, let’s get started on talking about the episode.

Game of Thrones Recap: Season 5, Episode 3: High Sparrow

We are on episode 3 now of Game of Thrones and the plot lines are slowly being laid down. There will be many big moments this season and the build-up to them is already palpable. I believe this season is going to deviate much more than any other from the books. With Season 5, we are now seeing the actors themselves grow up into young women and men and it is a bit daunting, but that just goes to show you how much we have grown up with them. Also, this season brings the most changes, Arya is no longer the little girl from Winterfell, Sansa is not scared of anyone anymore and Jon Snow has shown us how much he has grown up to be like the Starks. He is loyal, trust-worthy and will always do what he believes is right for the people.

This post is a little longer because I want to explain some of these new places to you guys.

Let’s discuss all the good stuff that happened on the episode.

Game of Thrones Recap: Season 5, Episode 1: The Wars to Come

After waiting for what felt like centuries, eons, a billion days, Game of Thrones finally returned to television. Season 5 premiered this past weekend with the first episode titled, “The Wars to Come,” if that doesn’t sound ominous enough, I don’t know what does. It started off right where we left off and primed us with the idea that things are changing in the Seven Kingdoms. Is it just  me or does it seem like an hour just doesn’t feel like enough? First things first we need to understand that at this point in the show, the storylines are now becoming very complex for each character. Also, new characters will be coming up,  which will only further add to the medley of stories.

Really quick let me recap where we left off last season. Tyrion escaped and is on a new voyage with Varys somewhere far off. Jamie and Cersei now have a different dynamic and she wants justice for her father’s death, which means she really wants to catch Tyrion. Daenerys Targaryen is still in Mereen and has established herself as the Queen. She kicked Jorah Mormont out and now has a new small council. Her dragons have also been locked up, all except for Drogon who is nowhere to be seen.

Arya is in Bravos, Sansa is with Littlefinger hiding out as Alayne and Bran is out in the woods with his crew.  Jon Snow is still at Castle Black, along with some wildlings and Stannis and his people. Pod and Brienne are still out searching for Sansa and last season she killed the Hound. Roose Bolton is with his son Ramsay and they are off looking to claim the North for good and Reek is there with them.

Ok that was a lot! Let’s get on to discussing the episode.
